Dear PCM Member,
Latest
TT Session 1st May 2007
I'd
like to thank everyone for making the TT session on the 1st of May a
'happening' occasion. We got to meet with so many members and their families
and had a great time brewing up a storm.
Once again, Id
like to stress that we should have these at least once a month for those who
can make it and once every three months we could have a big 'do' so that we
are assured a large gathering of members and family members.
A
big thank you to AbangK, as always for making this possible. Can I suggest we
have our committee meeting soon, so as to ensure that we have an events list
as well as other things squared away by midyear. I would like to introduce our
mini e-newsletter, where everyone can offer feedback and updates on technical
issues as well as social issues. Those who prefer getting their PCM e-news via
pda can also have access to it easily. That way we will never be out of touch.
This is just a test, however, I suggest an e-newsletter bi-monthly...which
means we must have an outing at least once in two months….otherwise we wont
have anything to write about.
PCM
is intending a trip to Redang to have a nice friendly road trip and experience
a holiday on the island at the same time.

According
to AbangK, it can be arranged but it does require a minimum 2 nights stay:
Departure
from West coast, Penang & Perak via Cameron-Gua Musang / KV & Southern
via Karak-Kuantan. This is so we can reach Redang in the afternoon to bask in
the sheer enjoyment of 2 nights and 1 & half days of sheer island bliss.
Food is a little expensive but if you are prepared to spend for the food then
the rest can be organised accordingly.
Folks,
what are we waiting for….the Sun, Sea and Sand, beckons!
Another
Session with some seasoned members at Kuala Kelawang Run, Session 1

Peugeot
News
The
907

Peugeot's
stunning two-seater 907-concept car has been impressing people since it was
revealed in late 2004.
The dramatic looking 907 is how Peugeot thinks the ultimate Grand Touring car
should look and perform. While there is no indication that the 4.37 metre long
sports car will ever go into limited production, the 907 highlights the
creativity of Peugeot's design centre.
The 907-concept supercar was the last design to emerge from the Peugeot La
Garenne styling studio before the design team relocated to Velizy.
Through extensive wind tunnel testing, the Peugeot 907 has proven that it is
stable at high speed, aided by a diffuser under the rear deck. The retractable
rear spoiler is incorporated into the tailgate. And with its broad, low and
leering grin, the front end of the 907 mirrors the bold styling of the Peugeot
407 production model.
406
coupe

Not
just attractive, an absolute stunner, that's the Peugeot 406 Coupe, writes
DAVID MORLEY.
Back
when Peugeots were rear-wheel-drive, it was the bigger cars of the marque that
sold strongly in Australia. The 504, 505 and, even earlier, the 403 and 404,
were all strong performers Down Under, helped no end by the reputation for
toughness they forged in around-Australia events in the 1950s.
Fast
forward to the late 1990s, however, and it's the smaller Peugeots gaining all
the attention. The 205 was a favourite of many (despite being too expensive)
and the 206 and 306 also sold well.
Among
the bigger cars, the 405 was largely ignored by pretty much anybody not a
Peugeot nut and the 406 was deemed even more irrelevant.
The
truth is that both the 405 and 406 lacked any real flair in terms of the
driving experience. They were adequate, but that's about it and, given
Peugeot's fairly staid styling themes of the time, there was just nothing else
to draw attention to them.
That
changed in 1997, however, when what is possibly Peugeot's prettiest car to
date was released in Australia.
The
406 Coupe wasn't just attractive, it was an absolute stunner - lines by
Italian design house Pininfarina, not an awkward angle in sight.
If
you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact your
committee. We are here for you after all! If you would like to contribute
stories or experiences or anything that comes to mind even if
you have editorial feedback and additional stuff that you want to put
into this newsletter of OURS, you can email me at nadia.gideon@gmail.com.
